Tell us about your start to the season good, bad , or just plain awful. Lovely weather in the UK means hard greens and bouncing fairways…………

2007 - the last 12 months left for the illegal Drivers in the UK

Will January 2008 be the date when a lot of our drivers will be illegal in competitions, will you still use them in your friendly matches or will your mates not pay out if you win?

I have a Callaway ERC Fusion with a little white plus on the head. On the neck there is a small note to say that this will not be legal from January 1st. I thought about getting a piece of emery cloth or a small file to fix the situation but that’s not really in the spirit of the game is it?

Does it really make any difference for a medium handicap golfer?

ps? I have won some longest drive competitions at various courses in the past 2 years?

A funny thing happened………

Each week millions of us work hard to reduce our handicap and some really funny things happen. It maybe your mate getting stuck in a bunker with shot after shot and his helpful playing partners offering him  a Hamlet and humming the tune from the famous advert.

It could be the air shot on the first from the 12 handicapper who has just taken delivery of his new contact lenses, or a gentle giant falling into the right hand bunker on the second hole on the Red at the Berkshire whilst trying to take off his the bottoms of his water proof suit.

Mostly you have to have been there for it to be funny but we would like to hear from you with some of your favourite stories.

Temporary Greens & Mats?
Posted by: @ 8:33 am

Well,  we have been lucky so far this year certainly in the South, very few temporary greens so far as the Winter gets closer but the frost stays away. Last week was the first week when we were all a little preturbed that we may have to play our Monthly Medal on the temporaries but as luck would have it the weekend warmed up and we had a great Sunday morning.

I just hate the mats although we only have a few at our club when the ground is frosty and the soft studs make you two inches taller it is just a nightmare. We would be interested to know your experiences of winter golf from the Sunny Algarve to the Frosty winter competitions at your club. Where do you enjoy your golf during the winter.

What should a good golf course offer

What type of golf course do you like to play on are you a “Links Lover” or would you prefer the “Pines” and the heather of The Berkshire or Sunningdale?

What does your club offer that other clubs do not?

With more and more golf clubs suffering from the car park golfer, what makes you go into the clubhouse and spend monet over the bar?
